[dunkelbunt] aka Ulf Lindemann like Kruder & Dorfmeister or Jazzanova - is part of the creative DJ movement which rose from the nightclubs in Vienna and the beach bars in Berlin to transcend the usual Central European techno and house club context by drawing inspiration from other genres and cultures.
From his native Hamburg, [dunkelbunt] emigrated to his adopted home of Vienna. [dunkelbunt]'s job description lists DJ, composer, producer, radio editor and mixer of spices and his work includes remixes for artists as various as Balkan Beat Box, 17 Hippies and the Amsterdam Klezmer Band. His name [dunkelbunt] stands for diversity and the restless search for as-yet-undiscovered musical fusions. San Francisco, Istanbul, Barcelona, Melbourne, London, Budapest, Capetown - these were just a few of the stops on his never-ending Morgenlandfahrt of the past few years.
