Consisting of Caroline Martial and Orion
Bouver, Kap Bambino is a stampeding punk-rock juggernaught. Unlike most
assaults of lawless rock'n'roll ideals, it's not powered by guitars, or rather
any live instruments whatsoever.
Onstage Kap Bambino's manifesto is crystal
clear: a union of liberation and abandon all in the name of love, otherwise
known as one giant next generation mosh-pit where any innocent bystanders are
doomed to messy fate of cyclone limbs, unabashed elation and down right
goofiness. "It may sound cheesy," grins Caroline. "But
everything we do, we do it as if it's the last time. Every show, the last one,
every song we record, the same. I think that makes our music what it is."
When the
pair first got chatting at a house party in 2001 it was with an intrinsic
connection Caroline cutely and aptly describes as "like electricity".
It took some persuading, but eventually Caroline convinced Orion to let her
yell over the top of the surges of digital brimstone he'd been conjuring before
the glare of his laptop monitor. What followed was three albums, numerous EPs
and singles, and countless. These led them to lay most of Europe, America and
Japan to waste with their now legendary riot-inducing stage show, and garnered
worshipping press tributes from the likes of NME, Dazed and Confused, Another
Magazine, and Dummy.
