Steve Wickham

Steve Wickham is an Irish musician described by Mike Scott as "the world's greatest rock fiddle player"and by New Musical Express as a "fiddling legend".

As one of the most prominent Irish fiddle players Wickham has played with various artists and has played on the recordings by U2 (Sunday, Bloody Sunday), and most notable with ‘The Waterboys’.

Steve in fact co-wrote a number of songs with Mike Scott on the acclaimed ‘Fisherman's Blues’ album, the standout being the title track itself.

Steve released his own solo album, ‘Geronimo’(named after his violin) in 2004 and showed a masterful grasp on composing beautiful, haunting melodies with ‘Lament For Pearl’ being a highlight.
